My Philosophy
We are born with the power of observation. What a dynamic tool we don’t always take time to appreciate. As we grow, we learn that we can cross the threshold of observation and move into action. We begin interacting with the people and environment around us by mimicking what we see and then figuring out how to engage in our own unique ways. We’re constantly encouraged to learn how to do things we’ve never done before. So we try—and fail many times—until our steps become less wobbly and our sounds begin to form words that connect us in new and meaningful ways to the world around us.
As we grow older, we are not always surrounded by advocates who continue to encourage, support, and challenge us. It can be incredibly daunting to try new things and adapt when something isn’t working. When we reflect on our personal and professional lives, it may feel impossible to grow beyond what we know we’re already capable of; however, we must take inspiration from our younger selves and the children surrounding us who are trying, failing, and obstinately trying again. This is a constant reminder, and proof to us all, that no matter how far we’ve come or how far we’ve fallen, we too can achieve far beyond our wildest imaginations!
